MG 4 is an ecotype selected among a collection of brizantha. It is a perennial tropical grass with very low demands in soil fertility. It has a good production of dry matter. Its management is simpler than that of MG 5, but it tends to have a smaller yield. It is suitable for beef and dairy cattle. It is not consumed by horses. It is resistant to cold weather with a good and fast regrowth after the event.
